PPEAC Turf partners with the Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station to provide STEM opportunities for youth
December 11th, 2015

Ewing, New Jersey (December 11, 2015). PEAC Turf hosts Science Sampler Camp operated by Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (Rutgers Cooperative Extension).

The camp runs Monday December 28th through Thursday December 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for grades 4th through 6th. Youth will participate in hands-on science experiments, introductory engineering projects and enjoy a session of LEGO Robotics.

According to the National Science Foundation, “scientific and technological innovations have become increasingly important as we face the benefits and challenges of both globalization and a knowledge-based economy.” In order to succeed in the future, children need a solid foundation in the STEM disciplines.

Whether it's helping to build productive futures for youth, supporting families of deployed military personnel or nurturing the budding performance artist within, Cooperative Extension, a unit of Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES), provides the tools and opportunities to build community and develop skills. As part of their mission to deliver a wide-range of educational programs to impact areas of economic and workforce development across New Jersey, the Rutgers Cooperative Extension is bringing excitement into STEM educational opportunities throughout the community preparing our youth to excel in a future filled with technological advancement.

“As a family fitness club and a member of the community PEAC is pleased to be able to host this great learning opportunity,” says PEAC Turf Director, Kara Forsythe. “We are more that just a health club and offer so much more than just fitness. Well being extends into all areas and we are pleased to be able to partner with the Rutgers Cooperative Extension to bring Science Camp into our community and help our youth get excited about STEM.”

For more information contact Kara Forsythe by email, or by phone at 609-883-2000. PEAC is located at 1440 Lower Ferry Road, Ewing, NJ.
